The chain link connects the ends of the type 520 drive chain into a closed loop. The standard dimensions of the chain dictate the pitch and roller size; the link fits any 520 chain. Pocket bikes, dirt bikes, and smaller dirt bikes with four-stroke engines often run on this type of chain.

A wear part that belongs in your toolbox as a spare and repair item. You will need a new link after every chain shortening, when tensioning, or after a chain snap.

Replacement takes about half an hour with a chain riveting tool or circlip pliers, depending on the master link type.
