The alternator is located behind the flywheel on the end of the crankshaft and provides voltage for the CDI, voltage regulator, and vehicle electrical system.

Construction and performance correspond to the original part. Covers YP 250 (model years 1996 to 1998, 20 hp), YP 250 DX and DXA (1998 to 1999), as well as YP 250 from model year 2000 (22 hp) and YP 250 A (2003). Compare connections with the old part before ordering.
