The Moturo starter relay for 50cc scooters from Yamaha, MBK, Peugeot, and Aprilia SR 50 (MY 92-01) — the prime suspect if the scooter won't start despite a full battery. Switches the starter current, ready for installation.

The starter relay is located between the battery and the starter motor and switches the high starter current when the electric starter is pressed. If the relay is faulty, the starter remains silent even though the battery is fully charged and the electrical system is working.

Used in 50cc scooters from Yamaha, MBK, Peugeot, and Aprilia SR 50 (model years 1992 to 2001), in AC and LC versions with outputs between 2.7 and 4.8 hp and 49cc displacement.

Replacement takes about half an hour with a socket wrench and screwdriver. Disconnect the battery before installation.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if the starter relay is faulty?
The scooter does not start despite a full battery, and the starter does not turn. When you press the electric starter, you often hear a clicking sound or nothing at all.

Does the relay also fit newer SR 50 models from 2002 onwards?
Compare the connector geometry and mounting points with the product image. From 2002 onwards, connectors sometimes changed.
